In light of WhatsApp joining the digital payments space, the government has approached the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), over the risk of allowing social media platforms to do the same. The latest development could mean further delays in the launch of WhatsApp's payment feature.
